Warta River Mouth Landscape Park

Warta River Mouth Landscape Park was established in 1996 on a total area of 28,488 hectares. With the establishment of Ujście Warty (Warta River Mouth) National Park in 2001, the area of the landscape park was reduced to ca. 20,600 hectares. The landscape park is dominated by vast wet meadows, oxbow lakes and rows of willow trees marking the boundaries between farm fields. The area has over 300 km of small rivers and channels, a remainder of the once dense drainage system of the Warta river. The purpose of the landscape park is to protect the great variety and numbers of the local bird population.
