Places

The statue was erected in 1928 at the Town Hall in Opalenica as a token of gratitude to the local parish priest Mieczysław Grudziński, and to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising. Destroyed by the Germans at the beginning of World War II, it was restored in 1945 and in 2016 underwent a thorough renovation.
