The 16th Century gallows in Trzebiel is a stone and brick structure standing on a height overlooking the town. The choice of the height for an execution site was not accidental - the visible gallows were supposed act as a deterrent for potential criminals. The Trzebiel gallows is the only preserved structure of this type in the Lubusz Voivodeship. It was shaped as a cylindrical well with a diameter of around 4.8 m and was 3 m high (currently it is 1.5 m high). The wall of the structure had a door which, presumably, were used to carry away the bodies of the executed convicts.
