Located on the left bank of the Leniwa Obra, in the Forest Inspectorate of Babimost, the nature reserve was established in 1969 to protect the Medieval fortified settlement and the local deciduous forest. The tree stand includes ashes aged 120-190 years and 200-300-year-old oaks, as well as a number of old beeches, hornbeams, alders, maple trees and birches. Ornithologists have confirmed 39 bird species inhabiting the nature reserve, the entire territory of which is under strict protection.
