Brodogóry

Once, there was no Lake Miedwie, Lake Płoń and others, but one great lake, 35 kilometres long and with water level 3 metres higher than today. To get from Pyrzyce to Stargard, travellers had to go around the lake which was 1.4 km wide in its narrowest point. Only a handful knew of a ford where the lake was less than 1 m deep and could be crossed by horses. They founded the village of Brody. Centuries before, there used to be a Slavic settlement on the height, overlooking the crossing. The remains of the Settlement are known today as Brodogóry.
