Post mills

Address 67-100 Nowa Sól, Lubięcin
Of the four windmills built between the 17th and the 19th century in the area, three have survived to this day. The oldest one dates back to 1817 and is one of the oldest mills in the Lubusz Voivodeship. It was built by the carpenter Gotfried Breiter from Neusalz (today: Nowa Sól) for David Fiedler. This type of mill is known as “post mill” due to base of the structure which is formed by a vertical axis founded on four crossed beams and connected to them with angle braces. The mill is a two-storey frame building.
