On 25 March 1987, in the forests near Dębno, a Soviet air force plane crashed, killing two Soviet airmen, Captain Viktor Nikolayevich Semyonov and Lt Igor Alexandrovych Tyerentev. The crash site is marked with a commemorative plaque.
