The view of Lebus
On the Oder embankment, near the site of the old ferry between Nowy Lubusz and what is today Lebus in Brandenburg, a commemorative stone was placed with an inscription: “Lubusz Land / Landscape of the Year 2003–2004 / 7 June 2006”. Right next to the stone, you will see a red-and-white border marker and a recreational pavilion. From there, you can see a magnificent view of the German town perched on the slopes of the Oder valley, with the church rising above all other buildings. Lebus is the historical capital of the Lubusz Land with its roots in early Middle Agres. In the 10th Century, the town was the main settlement of the Lubuszanie tribe.
