“West is the Best” is a mobile tourist application which will guide you through twelve enticing regions of Western Poland. The app will take you to the most interesting historical sites and natural attractions of the West Pomeranian, Lubusz and Greater Poland Voivodeships. In the app, you will find comprehensive information on accommodation, eating, recreational and sports facilities, local products and services, as well as the contact data of tourist information points, shops, offices and banks to make your Western Poland experience as pleasant and convenient, as possible.
The app also has a variety of tourist routes for hiking, cycling, kayak trips, education and discovery, and nordic walking. The app will navigate you through the routes, providing audio descriptions of all points of interest and attractions along the way. You can also get to know the region by taking part in various field games or looking for hidden caches.
The app has a very large data base with information on nearly 5 thousand different objects and facilities, and around 8 thousand kilometres of tourist routes along over 300 tourist trails, as well as over 8 thousand colour photographs. The app utilises GPS to display the user’s position and the location of points of interest, and works both on- and offline.
Our app will guide you through the Szczecin Coastal Region, the Myślibórz, Drawa and Wałcz Lake Districts, the Pyrzyce-Stargard Plain, the Dobiegniew and Łagów Lake Districts, Lower Lausatia, the Lubusz Oder Defile, the Middle Oder River Valley and the Lower Bóbr Valley, the Zielona Góra Embankment and the Kargowa Basin, the Obra River Valley, the Poznań Lake District and the Sława Lake District.

Operation titled: “Mobile tourist application as an innovative method of promotion of the Local Development Strategy, aimed at making use of the local heritage (including local products and services to develop a mobile app and a website, and to implement initiatives to promote the area covered by the Local Development Strategy of the project partners, such as publishing information and promotional materials (e.g. maps, brochures, games, gadgets or video materials), to promote the area of the project partners’ Local Action Groups, together with the planned promotional campaigns (online campaigns, contests, a conference), as well as innovative educational approaches to allow the local citizens and tourist to get to know the LDS area, its natural and cultural heritage, places of interest, historical sites, culture, and local products and services, is co-funded by the European Union as part of the LEADER Programme 2014-2020.
