Established in 2001, “Ujście Warty” is Poland’s youngest national park. Its main objective is to protect various local bird species and to preserve the habitat conditions in order to maintain diversity. There are two water courses running through the national park: the Postomia (which on that section is actually a branch of the old delta, into which the small Postomia stream flows), and the Warta, which divides the national park into the northern and the southern part. The southern part is the more valuable one in terms of natural environment, as it is a part of a vast terrace (also known as Kostrzyń Storage Reservoir).
