The three dystrophic and acidic lakes have specific fauna and flora, and are undergoing an interesting natural transition from water reservoirs to peat bogs. In the inlets and narrow necks, the lakes have already turned into mossy peat bogs. The local flora includes cranberry, cotton grass, moor grass and wild rosemary.
