Stalag III C

The German POW camp where several thousand Czech troops were held immediately before the outbreak of World War II. After the September Campaign, around 7 thousand Polish troops were sent there. In total, the camp held over 70 thousand soldiers from various nations, including the Warsaw Uprising insurgents brought there in 1944. There are 6 mass graves on the camp premises. To honour the prisoners, a monument was built depicting 3 busts of war prisoners.
