Czarnów Fort

A twin of the nearby Żabice fort, built in the years 1888-90. The shape and location of the fortification allowed the crew to control the main traffic routes within the area of Fortress Kostrzyn. Today, the fort is a ruin used as a local nature conservation site, but it is still worth it to take a peek inside to see the characteristic construction techniques of the period, in particular the methods of combining brick walls with sand pads.
