Bridge ruins

Built during the interwar period, the bridge connected the village of Kłopot (Kloppitz) with Fürstenberg (which is currently the river bank quarter of Eisenhüttenstadt). In 1945, the retreating German army blew up the steel middle span of the bridge, leaving the brick spans on both sides of the river. In 2000, during the renovation of the flood banks, a body of a German soldier in a complete uniform was uncovered, complete with numerous unexploded ordnance, shells and other armament.
