Built in the years 1862–65, the church was originally a Protestant temple. Today, it is the parish church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Located on a height in the southern part of the village, the church is surrounded with a cemetery. It is known locally as the “royal church”, because it was built after the parishioners had petitioned Frederick Wilhelm IV, the King of Prussia himself.
