The church was built in the second half of the 19th Century on the site of an older church, likely to replace a Catholic temple with a Protestant one, as it often happened at the time. The church was built with brick and crushed stone, in Gothic Revival style, and is topped by a tall brick steeple. After 1945, it was converted into a Roman Catholic temple.
