According to the local legend, the first Slav in these parts was a fisherman named Szczepan. He called the settlement Szczepnica after himself. Szczepnica was renowned for fishing, hunting and trade. Over the years, the settlement grew into a village. The locals even built a church, but a great fire burned down its steeple, leaving only the bells. Tip Look for the cache among them.
