One of the oldest hydroelectric power stations in Poland, “Kamienna” was built at the end of the 19th Century on the Drawa river in Drawa National Park. The power station is still in operation, generating electricity with two Francis turbines from 1898. In the machine hall, there is a manually operated overhead crane from 1909. Among the old, but still operational measuring equipment, such as voltage meters and ammeters, there are two light bulbs serving as signalling devices continuously since 1903. Today, the power station with its main building, utility building and switchroom, is a valuable technical monument.
