Located on the Drawa Plain (Polish: Równina Drawska) in the Drawa Wilderness (Puszcza Drawska) on the Southern Pomeranian Lake District (Pojezierze Południowopomorskie), the Drawa National Park consists mainly of forests: beech forests, beech and oak forests, and pine forests. The national park has two main rivers, the Drawa and the Płocizna, as well as 20 water reservoirs, including the unique Lake Czarne. Due to the specific shape of the lake basin and its location in a hollow, the local winds never stir the lake’s waters all the way to the bottom. In the Drawa National Park, a number of special conservation areas are established which are under strict environmental protection. Visitors can take a number of discovery paths through the park.
