The first mention of the church originates from 1454. In 1604, there was a Protestant church of St Stanislaus on that site, with a pietà on the main altar. In 1607, the church was taken over by Roman Catholics and converted into the Nativity of Mary church. Burned down twice, in mid-19th Century the church was rebuilt as a Gothic Revival temple in the round-arch style (German: Rundbogenstil). Its current patron is St John of Nepomuk. The church belongs to the Deanery of Rokitno.
