Flöther’s Hill

Address ul. Młynarska, 68-320 Jasień
A natural hill in the town centre with a historic water tower, which serves today as the offices of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK) “Włóczęga” (The Rambler). Before 1945, the place was the property of Theodor Flöther who owned a farming machinery plant. There was also a small vineyard. The book “Sommerfeld in der Niderlausitz mit Gassen und Umgegend” (Lubsko in Niderlausitz - its streets and surroundings), published in 1908, provides information that Flöther’s Hill in Jasień used to be called Gallows’ Hill (German: Galgenberg). Under the hill, there is an old bunker, which is currently inaccessible.
