The filial church of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Smardzewo belongs to the parish of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Opalewo and the Deanery in Świebodzin. The temple was built in the second half of the 18th Century. At the beginning of the 20th Century, the Classicist church was renovated and expanded, adding a chancel, a chapel and a stairwell. The surviving items of the original furnishing of the church include the 18th Century main altar, the 19th Century marble font and two Baroque candle holders from the 18th Century.
