Town Hall
Built in the 16th Century and reconstructed in the 19th Century, the town hall serves as the seat of the Regional Museum, the Civil Registry Office and the Citizen Affairs Department, as well as the Town Council. The original building, which was probably a timber structure, was completed at the end of the 14th Century in the centre of the town square. The façades combine the stylistic features of Gothic and Renaissance. The steeple is crowned with a battlement. A number of the oldest elements of the town hall have survived in the cellars and in several rooms on the first floor, such as the stone barrel vaults, the brick cross-and-rib vaults, and the stellar vaults. Everyday at noon, Świebodzin’s bugle call is played from the steeple, composed by Edmund Wilgocki. The steeple also has a viewing terrace which offers a beautiful vista of the town.
