Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church

Address Rybaki
The Protestant church was funded and built in 1677 by the wealthy and influential von Löben family who ruled those lands for over two centuries. The building is a half-timbered structure, i.e. has timber frame walls filled with clay. The works on the interior of the temple were completed in 1680 under the supervision of Johann Fridrick von Löben, introducing the exquisite Baroque decorations with the benefactors’ lodges separated by crown glass windows on the southern gallery. In the 18th Century, the church walls were encased in brick. The pulpit-altar was built in the second half of the 1800s. Around 1934, the gable wall was reinforced by building a church-porch in the form of massive buttresses. After World War II, the church was taken over by Roman Catholics.
