St Joseph church is located in the northern part of the village of Kępno, before the bridge over the Reczyca river. The original church in Kępno did not survive, although even in the 18th Century it had been expanded by adding a two-storey half-timbered steeple. As the old church was gradually falling into ruin, it was demolished in the 19th Century and a new temple was built in its place. Only the steeple survived, although it required extensive renovation. The steel bell tower has a 15th Century bronze bell.
