On the square at the ruins of the old town fortifications in 3 Maja street, you can see a boulder with an inscribed date “1812”, i.e. the year of Napoleon Bonaparte’s campaign against Russia. The boulder commemorates the assembly of the Saxon army in Gubin, from where it marched with Napoleon.
