In 1866, the President of the German Reich, Paul von Hindenburg, lived in Lubsko (Sommerfled) in a house at number 23 Morgenstrasse (today: Bolesława Chrobrego street). His stay in the town was commemorated by planting an oak in the town park, and placing a boulder with a plaque at its foot.
