The nature reserve protects a section of the forest with the communities of crossleaf sheath. Aside from the sheath, the local undergrowth is also home to moor grass, white break-sedge and wild rosemary. The nature reserve is under active protection, which means that protective interventions can be undertaken if necessary, even interfering with natural processes.
