The 2-4 metres walls were built of stones and brick on a circular plan. The construction started in the times of King Casimir the Great and ended in the 15th century. Over the next two hundred years they were extended and fortified. The ramparts of Wschowa consisted of 3 parts: the walls, the moat, the earthworks and two gates - Polska Gate and Głogowska Gate. The oldest part that remained are at the castle in Wschowa, which used to be the seat of authorities in the past.
