Stone - the monument

Address Krąpiel, 73-131 Stargard , Krąpiel
In front of the church in Krąpiel there was placed a huge pink granite erratic rock left by the Scandinavian glacier thousands years ago. It is also a monument and a proof of the end of the First World War. However, it differs from common monuments in memory of the fallen in the First World War. There are no names on it. In the First World War almost 2 million German soldiers died. There is a quotation written in stone from "Aeneid by Virgil: "Let an avenger of our bones be raised once." Those words were fulfilled, an avenger was raised and unleashed the Second World War in which around 5 million German soldiers lost their lives.
