The church was built of fieldstone and brick by Joachim von Wedel. The construction was finished in the middle of July 1606. This Early Renaissance aisleless church built on a rectangular plan fell into ruin after 1945. Its reconstruction started in 1997. Opposite the church there are the remains of a cylindrical fortified tower "Stary Piotr" from the turn of the 16th century. It is a relic of the Wedel castle fortification, which serves as a magazine for weapons and gunpowder.
