Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church

Address Szkolna 18, 74-106 Kołbacz, Kołowo
The church in Kołowo was built in the 19th century on the site of an older temple which had been demolished. Inside the church, between the aisle and the chancel, three tombstones were cast into the temple floor, including one of Jan Jordani, the abbot of the Cistercian abbey in Kołbacz, who died in 1395. Limestone slab is unique because it one of the few tombstones in Western Pomerania to feature a Medieval relief. The second tombstone belonged to the ducal equerry who died in 1615, and the third to the huntsman who departed this world in 1775.
