The Medieval Pomeranian tribes must have found the areas around Lake Woświn particularly attractive, since as many as 4 fortified settlements can be found in the vicinity of the southern end of the lake. Two of them on the western side are located just 200 m from each other - one in Chociwel, the other in Wieleń Pomorski. The other two are located around 400 m to the south, in Cieszyno Łobeskie.
