Lake Ińsko

Lake Ińsko is the largest and cleanest (class I water quality) lakes in the commune of Ińsko. 5.4 km wide and 2.1 km long, the lake has the area of almost 600 hectares and its maximum depth is 42 m. Pristine waters and depth make Lake Ińsko a popular scuba-diving destination. The lake has three islands; on the one named Wyspa Sołtyski, there is a nature reserve protecting a 150-year-old beech and oak forest. The shoreline is very diverse, with plenty of coves and peninsulas. The lake shores are sometimes very high and steep, with the scarps rising 30 m above the water level.
