Ruins of Krasne Palace

Address Krasne, 74-230 Lipiany, Krasne
From the 13th to the 18th century, the Krasne estate was owned by the knighthood family of von Liebenthal. In mid-18th century, the estate went briefly over to the von Borck family and soon after to a trade counsellor named Simon, and eventually to the Cranach family which owned the estate until the end of World War II. The family also gave the world Lucas Cranach, a famous German Renaissance painter who painted portraits of various important figures of the age, most notably Martin Luther, but is probably best known as the artist who introduced the female nude figure to German painting.
