The first mentions of the castle date back to 1298. Back then, it was a wooden hold and would remain so until the 16th century when it was rebuilt as a masonry structure. The castle is surrounded by a dry moat. Look for the surprise to the left of the gate, at the moat, around 2 m from the gate house wall, behind one of the characteristic bricks.
