The arboretum, i.e. a tree garden, was founded in 1880 and is currently supervised and managed by the Gryfino Forest Inspectorate. The garden is home to around 800 species of trees and shrubs, mainly exotic ones. Some of the specimens belong to the largest found in Poland, including Poland’s largest giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) which is still standing despite being lifeless.
