Small hydroelectric power station in Reczyce

In 1755, the Prussian king Frederick II the Great ordered the construction in Reczyce of an industrial forge powered by the waters of the Myśla river. Ten years later, a special hammer for forging black steel, which was produced there until 1771. From the forge, the black steel was transported to the construction sites of Neue Palast (Sanssouci) and Belvedere palaces in Potsdam. When the forge was no longer necessary, it was dismantled; in the first half of the 20th century a hydroelectric power station was built there which operates to this day. The only reminder of the 18th-century forge are numerous pieces of slag littering the river bottom.
