SS Peter and Paul Church

Address Grzędzice
Built in the first half of the 14th Century, the oriented aiseless church on a rectangular plan has a pentagonal chancel and a square steeple. The temple was built with boulders of various sizes, with only the corners of the building and the sides and tops of portals and windows, frames of blind arches and the belt courses of the steeple made with brick. The church has a timber vault from 1550. The Christ statue dates back to around 1500. In 1912, under numerous layers of paint, valuable wall paintings were discovered on all church walls, depicting scenes from the Bible, which had been made in mid-15th Century. The temple was likely built on the site of an older church, as suggested by the 13th Century granite pulpit in front of the building.
