Nicholas Copernicus Primary School
The school was opened on 4 September 1945 and initially had only 47 students. In 1958, plans for a new building were formulated (the school was spread to three separate buildings). The new school would be a Millenary of the Polish State Memorial. The initiative that began in Pszczew eventually resulted in 1,300 new schools referred to as Millenary Memorials. On the 500th anniversary of Nicholas Copernicus’ birthday, the school was given the name and banner of the great Polish astronomer. In 1999, the reform of the Polish education system converted the school into a school complex, consisting in a primary school and a junior high school. Another reform in 2017 restored the old system and the school returned to its original name - Nicholas Copernicus Primary School in Pszczew.
