Castle - Lubusz Orthopaedics Centre
Built in the 14th Century, the castle was connected to the town’s fortifications. In the 15th Century it was temporarily taken by the Knights Hospitaller. In later centuries, the castle served as the seat of the town commanders and starosts. As a result of multiple reconstructions in the 17th, 19th and 20th Century, the castle lost its original form and character. Only two ruined wings survived, which are now parts of Lech Wierusz Lubusz Orthopaedics Centre (Polish: Lubuskie Centrum Ortopedii im. dr. Lecha Wierusza), i.e. the former St Joseph hospital ran by the Sisters of Mercy of St Borromeo.
