In the 14th century, the Sarnik estate was acquired by the wealthy Pomeranian house of Wedel, but later changed hands again and went to the von Fleming family. Several centuries later, in 1870, Sarnik returned to the Wedel family who built a palace in the park in 1898. The elements of the complex which survive to this day include ruins of the palace and a number of other structures, such as the entrance gate.
